Individual Counseling

It all begins Right Here, Right Now Individual counseling is a collaborative process in which a unique, confidential helping relationship is developed between a counselor and a willing client. In this relationship, the counselor acts as a facilitator to help the client to understand more accurately him/herself and the world around him/her. The counselor and client explore the client's feelings and behaviors, relationships with others, choices and decisions, as well as the client's current situation.

How to get the most out of your counseling

The bottom line is that if you are bothered by problems with emotions or behaviors, if your ability to love and/or work are being negatively affected, then you may benefit from counseling.

  • Define your goals and share them with your counselor.
  • Be an active participant. Share your thoughts, feelings and ideas.
  • Be patient with yourself.
  • Ask questions.
  • Follow your counselor's recommendations.

  • If your current situation has you concerned enough that you are exploring the possiblity of getting help - it’s time. If now is not the time, ask yourself: "How much worse will it have to get before you are willing to act?"
